Born in Chennai, Dilip first became interested in magic at the age of 7. He grew up a lonely kid being the only child to his parents. As a young boy he was wrapped in a dream world of his own. He would sit back and imagine being able to command supernatural powers, little knowing that he would come to live those dreams. His was a mind filled with wonder and a thousand questions that followed. His parents assumed it to be a 'phase' and were of the inclination that he'd 'normalize' in time. During his school days he was exceptional at science, which has much to do with what he does today...

CONTRADICTING IT !

Dilip grew up in Chennai and had very few friends, most of whom were considered weird and bookworms. But it was mostly his friends who helped him achieve what he was aiming for, simply by believing in him.

Belief, its been the magic word that has earned him the status of being one of the most sophisticated illusionists India has ever produced. That too considering the fact that he has not had any formal mentor or guide in the field.

Dilip studied the art out of sheer dedication and passion. While other kids were playing, partying, and having normal lives, he would walk his way back from school saving every bit of pocket money he could to buy a book on magic or to see a show at the local fair.

At the age of 9. Dilip gave his first public show. This was soon followed up by several other shows and that was when people sat back and started noticing him for his unique abilities. He was 15 when he made his first television appearance on Doordarshan Kendra, at a time when it was the only channel on the air.

Dilip's father was strictly against his leaning toward magic as he wanted him to follow architecture like himself. During those years he faced severe resentment and deep set abhorrence from his parents and peers but continued to brave the odds with more undying dedication to the art.

It was at this time that Dilip delved into several allied arts such as metaphysics and psychology. He used to be one of the youngest regular members at the theosophical society (THE ADYAR LIBRARY AND RESEARCH CENTRE) which houses some of the rarest and ancient texts on supernatural and occult subjects in the world.

At the age of 19, Dilip stepped into illusionism, defined as the art of magic on a large scale using people, huge objects or animals.

Today Dilip has won recognition all over the country in comparison to illusionist David Copperfield of the USA. Dilip's show features tons of equipment with the most sophisticated lighting and sound technologies backed up by a 20 member team working in split second timing.

His show is a mix of foot tapping rock music, stage choreography and mind boggling magic. His cutting edge illusions and suave persona is guaranteed to sweep any audience off its feet To put it simply, he has defied logic and science with a theatrical style that is uniquely his own.

Dilip is India's most sophisticated and hi-end stage illusionist. He walks through mirrors, disappears, reappears amidst the audience in the fraction of a second and reads the entire audiences' minds in his live shows.
